About Cableguys

Once upon a time, Jakob Rang was a self-confessed audio enthusiast, and successful software developer. That all changed when on one day, he was mysteriously transported to Berlin, the capital of European musical culture, where a strange and magical event transpired that would change the course of his life forever.

One night in one of Berlin's infamous nightclubs, Jakob met his friend Steffen Rose, who was an employee at a multimedia company, and fellow audio addict. That night, Jakob and Steffen were hit by a laser beam at the club that gave them both magical, telekinetic powers. They were suddenly gifted with the power of Technopathy; a special form of electrical manipulation. They discovered that they could easily devise and construct technological products, and in particular, VST software instruments.

United by their common never-ending quest to save the world from mundane VSTs, Jakob and Steffen decided to join forces to form Cableguys. The crew immediately put their superhuman developing skills to use, and began to effortlessly produce ground breaking audio plugins. Wasting no time, they developed and released their first VST effect VolumeShaper in December 2007. Shortly after, they released the innovative plugin FilterShaper in May 2008.

From the comfort of their secret Berlin laboratory, the Cableguys will continue on their life-long mission to build superior audio plugins, and infiltrate the audio software market.
