Curve Changelog

Curve 1.4

Improvements:

  • Feature-rich mono mode, plus legato and glide: Not only can glide times be set in mono and legato modes, but also when playing in polyphonic mode. And glide times can be set to be constant or proportional. But there's even more. Individual glide times can be set for each oscillator, yielding tonally rich transitions when gliding between notes, from drones and other weird effects to slick, snappy attacks.

Curve 1.3

Improvements:

  • More wavepoints: Curve now allows up to 40 wavepoints for drawing waveforms. More weirdness, more control for wobbles, for arpeggios, etc.
  • One-shot LFOs: These are particularly good for drums. In case you are using a one-shot LFO, you can draw in the precise envelope you prefer.
  • Syncing for LFO 1+2: LFO 1+2 can now be optionally synced to the host position, instead of being retriggered.

Curve 1.2

Improvements:

  • Modulation of individual OSC parameters: We knew this would help make Curve better, but we are actually quite impressed with the impact it has on Curve's sound capabilities.
  • Save presets without community upload: You can decide if a preset that you add to Curve's preset library should only be available to you or if you want to share it with the community.
  • Modulation of LFO rates: Not just for the wobble addicts out there, but also for FX sounds and more.
  • 64-bit support for PC.
  • An improved polyphony algorithm.
  • Better sound for fast-running LFOs.

Curve 1.1.1

Bugfixes:

  • Mac: Crashbug: Loading VST and AU versions at the same time could lead to crashes. Fixed.
  • Mac: Waveform editing: Double-clicking in the waveform area could behave strange. Fixed.
  • Syncing presets: The list of presets was not always updating while syncing. Fixed.

Improvements:

  • Adding presets: Demo version users of Curve can also add their presets to the preset library.
  • Editing release: Now, changing release time has immediate effect on releasing sounds.
  • CPU consumption: Decreased CPU usage for pitch modulation.

Curve 1.1

Improvements:

  • Undo/redo for waveform drawing: Two new buttons below the waveform allow infinite undo/redo of your waveform edits.
  • Aftertouch: It's now available as modulation source.

Curve 1.0

Bugfixes:

  • Crash with automation: Fixed crash that could occur when modulating tons of stuff and thereby editing parameters at the same time.
  • Cut notes: With long audio buffers it could happen that playing notes were cut. Fixed.

Improvements:

  • Modwheel: The first big user wish was implemented: Added modwheel as modulation source.
  • GUI: A couple of GUI tweaks and a few less pixels for the GUI's height.
  • Texts: Various text tweaks.

Curve 1.0b7

Bugfixes:

  • Presets search: If you searched for your own name in the presets browser, it could happen that some presets did not show up. Fixed.

Improvements:

  • Aliasing-free sound: In Curve's new "Normal Mode", its OSCs will stay bandlimited even in high frequencies and with heavy pitch modulations. You can also choose the new "Eco Mode" for the old sound at a lower CPU usage.

Curve 1.0b6

Bugfixes:

  • Author in preset browser: When you set your author name for the first time, your presets showed an empty author until restarting Curve. Fixed.
  • Displayed waveform: Sometimes a wrong waveform was displayed when closing and afterwards opening the plugin's GUI. Fixed.

Improvements:

  • Presets: Curve's preset browser is now pre-filled with the latest presets. Useful if you do not have an internet connection on your audio system.
  • Preset syncing: It got faster and you can continue working while syncing presets.

Curve 1.0b5

Bugfixes:

  • Community rating and tagging: When syncing, community rating and tags got updated, but after closing and opening Curve, they had been back to the previous community rating and tags. Fixed.
  • Downloading presets: New presets were not always downloaded. Fixed.
  • Presets filter: The list of filtered presets sometimes showed wrong results. Fixed.

Improvements:

  • Presets search: We added a search box in the presets browser. You can now search your presets for author and preset name.
  • Highlight current preset: The preset that is currently loaded gets highlighted in the presets list.

Curve 1.0b4

Bugfixes:

  • OSCs + LFOs played wrong: It could happen that the OSCs and LFOs played waveform 1 when being set to "off". Fixed.
  • Crash while syncing: Closing the Curve GUI while syncing presets could crash the host. Fixed.

Improvements:

  • CPU usage: Various CPU improvements. More to come.
  • Button for blank preset: We added a button which initializes a blank preset.
  • Faster syncing: We added a "skip"-button to the syncing progress dialog. Click it if you do not want all ratings and tags do be synced or if you do not want to download all new presets.
  • Preset filters: We refined them to not always show unrated and untagged presets.

Curve 1.0b3

Bugfixes:

  • Hanging notes: Playing notes very fast via the piano rolls in Ableton Live or FL Studio could lead to hanging notes. This is fixed now.
  • CPU spikes when automating menus: When automating a menu and changing it's value slowly, your CPU could explode (most of all with the "Quality" menu). Fixed.
  • Synth/effect mixup: Curve could wrongly be recognized as synth/effect-hybrid. Fixed.

Improvements:

  • Note grid: We added a button below the waveform that lets you show a note grid. The points in the waveform will snap to that grid if you move them. So, programming melodies with the LFOs gets easier now (thanks for that user request!). And you can still do the cool custom nore bends.
  • More tags: We added more tags ("Bassline", "Synthline" and "Drumloop"), now that we get this crazy rhythmic stuff and great melodic patterns.
  • Smaller GUI: Curve's GUI was too big for people with a resolution of 768 pixels height. The new GUI is smaller, though on some hosts it is still too high (if the host adds a lot of stuff). Let us know if it's still too high for your host.
  • More buttons: Added two buttons to jump to the start and to the end of the presets list.

Curve 1.0b2

Bugfixes:

  • If playing a note twice, the second note was not triggered: When a note stops and at the same time the exact same note should be played again, then it was not played at all. This is fixed now.
  • Wave 10 was not displayed: When having wave 10 selected in an OSC or LFO, and then clicking on the arrow-button next to the wave-selection-menu, the wave was not shown. This is fixed now.

Improvements:

  • Polyphony: We added a menu for setting the polyphony. The polyphony is not part of the preset, but applied to all instances of Curve.
  • Preciser display in modulation matrix and on pan knob: For small values, we now display 1 or 2 decimal places. And we added info texts that tell you that CTRL-clicking sets the default value.
  • Selected preset: We display the name of the currently selected preset in the top-right corner.
  • Connection timeout: We doubled the connection timeout when connecting to the Cableguys server.
  • Default values in modulation matrix: On EG1/2->Volume, resetting the value via CTRL-click gave 50, but blank makes more sense. We changed that.
  • Info texts: Changed a couple of these and added some new ones.
